Tour Plan

Day 1 Aswan Sightseeing

Your private tour begins with pickup from your Aswan hotel or Nile cruise at the agreed meeting point.

The first day is dedicated to the Aswan sightseeing included in your selected itinerary. The exact attractions are stated in the booking confirmation so you know precisely which visits are included before payment.

Aswan is known for major archaeological monuments and Nile landscapes. Depending on the selected program, sightseeing can include important sites such as Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Aswan High Dam.

Philae Temple, when included in the itinerary, is a historic sanctuary associated with the goddess Isis. The temple complex contains monuments from different periods of Egyptian history and was relocated to Agilkia Island during the Nubian monuments rescue campaign.

The Unfinished Obelisk, when included, provides a direct view of ancient granite quarrying and stone-working techniques. Its incomplete state shows how a monumental obelisk was being carved before the project was abandoned.

The Aswan High Dam, when included, is the major Nile engineering project that contributed to the formation of Lake Nasser and changed the archaeological landscape of Nubia.

The first day ends according to the confirmed itinerary and overnight arrangement.

Day 2 Abu Simbel Temples

After the agreed departure from Aswan, continue to Abu Simbel, the main archaeological destination of the second day.

The Abu Simbel complex contains two monumental rock-cut temples built during the reign of Ramesses II.

Great Temple of Ramesses II

The Great Temple of Ramesses II is famous for its four colossal seated statues carved into the façade.

Inside, the temple contains monumental halls, columns, reliefs, inscriptions, and decorated chambers connected with the religious and royal traditions of ancient Egypt.

The temple was dedicated to major deities including Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, Ptah, and the deified Ramesses II.

Temple of Nefertari and Hathor

The smaller temple was dedicated to Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor.

Its façade features monumental representations of Ramesses II and Nefertari, while the interior contains decorated rooms and reliefs associated with the queen and Hathor.

Visiting both temples gives you a broader view of the monumental architecture and royal imagery preserved at Abu Simbel.

The Preservation of Abu Simbel

The Abu Simbel temples also have an important modern history.

The original location was threatened by the rising waters created by the Aswan High Dam. An international preservation campaign coordinated by UNESCO relocated the temples to their present setting, with the relocation completed in 1968.

After exploring Abu Simbel, return according to the confirmed two-day itinerary.
